WOW, TGIF AGAIN

It's been years since I looked at this blog but something hit me this morning and I wanted to start blogging again, so here goes.

I haven't worked out my blogging style as yet, but I can tell you, it will be family, photography, travel and my granddaughter, Scarlett.  It is going to be a Hodge Podge as perhaps I will throw in some cooking and senior type stuff too (not sure yet what senior stuff is!)

As the new title indicates, I have decided it is now the time to quit the day job and do what I want when I want and how I want!  On June 1, 2013 I will be my own boss once again.  I went back to work after the kids were 10 and 8 in 1987 and haven't had a break in my working life.  I always had a goal of Freedom 55 but at 55 I was not yet ready.  This year, I am ready.  Lots going on and I want to do what I want when I want and how I want....did I say that already?  lol

My son and his mate are on the move.  She is Australian and they have decided they want to raise Scarlett in Australia.  What can I say, my son is a big boy and I DO remember how it was to be 33 and wanting to be my own mom and do my own thing.  Mine you at 33 years of age, I had a 11 years old and a 9 year old!  My how times have changed!

This weekend we are having a family weekend in a chalet in the mountains.  Daughter is coming in this afternoon and off the 5.5 of us go to the Rockies for some family time.  Daughter in law is leaving on February 24 with my dear g-baby to Melbourne and we thought a family weekend would be in order.  Christmas is just too busy so this will be our time.

TGIF

Fridays are special...weekend ahead, golfing, resting, watching TV doing nothing.......how good can it get?

Trying to manoever around...........

Been awhile since I blogged so trying to again remember the passwords and how to get around.

Plan to blog while on holidays as I now have a laptop to take with me so that my son who is on his lifetime adventure of trying to hit every country in the world, I think, can read and communicate with us whenever he so wishes.

OK that didn't work

If you want to see the mosiac, just click on Flickr and look under the Flickr Toys set.

I thought today was supposed to be so warm but....not....it was nice but I wish it had been warmer. I am sick of this cool weather, I want it warm.

Did I tell you readers that Dean is off to Europe and Australia for an extended work and play holiday. He has lined up 3 months of work at the pink palace in Corfu, Greece staring on June 1. He is so excited, he can hardly wait. I am having him set up a Flickr account and he takes great pics so you'all keep tuned and I will post the url when it is up and flowing. He actually leaves Canada on May 4. I am excited for him and sad for me but with his laptop and my computer, the distance should not seem as far. If you want to check out where he is working, check out this web site....www.thepinkpalace.com.

Cool

I know, I know, it's been a very long time but those who read this know that I have been busy with Flickr and taking pictures. I have found that I truly enjoy my new camera more and more as I learn more and more techniques and how it works. Truly amazing. I love digital photography. I used to like photography but hated having to wait for the developing to see what I had taken and too many times, the pics were bad. Today, it is soooo great. Not good-delete, bad light-delete, did I say I love it!! And digital editing is exciting too. I have joined a couple Flickr groups and have learned lots. With my basic knowledge from an online photography class and a Photoshop Elements class, I am advancing. Most of the time I spend on here, I am on Flickr or editing photos.

On another subject, guess where I'm going. My girlfriend, her adult daughter and I are going to New York for a week in May. I am so excited! Shopping, touring, taking pictures, Broadway.....or so much to do, what to do, how much to spend, where to shop.....did you know that there is a huge designer outlet mall just north of Manhattan. We are checking that mall out that's for sure.

Here's a mosiac I made with Flickr....takes no talent...just was fun.
